Jewish Identity Now: An Introductory Workshop

A Therapeutic Drama Workshop Exploring Jewish Identity and the Current Rise in Anti-Semitism

July 11, 9:30-1:30 PM PST $25 Zoom Workshop

Register today

In the last few months and years, we have seen a great rise in anti-semitic sentiment around the world, from brutal attacks on Jewish People in reaction to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to the deadly demonstrations in Charlottesville, VA, and the violent insurrection on January, 6th, 2021. Join Maggie Silverman and Janna Browning Weir for a Healing the Wounds of History workshop, where we will explore and process Jewish identity. How can we take steps towards healing personal and collective wounds as Jews, especially during these troubled times? How do we process our feelings about being targeted, yet again?

We invite you to come and find connections through personal and collective stories using the healing power of drama and the expressive arts. We will use movement, mindfulness, role-playing, improvisation, and more.

Healing the Wounds of History, developed by Armand Volkas, “Helps participants work through the burden of shared historical legacies by transforming their pain into constructive action. By humanizing each other through sharing our personal stories, we take steps towards healing personal and collective wounds using creative and experiential methods.”

No acting or movement experience in these methods is necessary. Shy Jews welcome!

Space is limited.
